We build campaigns on trust, so here's exactly how we treat information on vancitystudios.com and in our services — in the plainest language a privacy policy allows.
Van City Studios is a brand of Third Space Ventures LLC, our parent company; references to "Van City Studios," "we," "us," or "our" in this policy include Third Space Ventures LLC. We run vancitystudios.com and the services connected to it. This policy covers information collected through our website, our services, email and other electronic messages between you and us, our applications, and third-party advertising that links to this policy. It does not cover information collected offline, on other websites (including sites we link to), or by third parties operating independently of us.
Personal information is anything that identifies you as an individual — your name, mailing address, email address, phone number, or similar identifiers defined by law. De-identified information is data processed so it can no longer reasonably be tied back to you. Third-party personal information is data about users, supporters, or voters that our clients provide to us in the course of our work for them — we handle it under our agreements with those clients.
Server logs recording page visits and browser details are typically deleted after one week. We may also receive information from business partners.
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use essential cookies (required for basic functions like carts and invoicing), performance cookies (aggregated, anonymized measurement of how pages are used), and functionality cookies (remembering your choices and preferences; these cannot track you outside our sites).
We also use web beacons and pixel tags — tiny electronic files that count page visits and email opens, measure the effectiveness of content and advertising, and help us match what we offer to what people actually use. Flash-based local storage, where used, is not controlled by standard browser cookie settings.
You can refuse cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may stop working. You can also request opt-out cookies by emailing sayhello@vancitystudios.com.
Some third parties collect information independently when you use our services, under their own policies rather than ours:
We use collected information to show advertising to the audiences it's meant for, but we do not disclose your personal information for that purpose without your consent.
Providing your email address (including by linking a social account) consents to service-related notices — things like account activity, billing, and changes to our services or policies. We don't currently send newsletters or marketing email. If that ever changes, every such email will include a clear way to opt out, and you can always ask us to stop any non-essential email by writing to sayhello@vancitystudios.com. Service-related notices can't be opted out of while you use our services.
We never rent or sell your personal information. We share it only:
Information may be stored with third-party hosting providers outside our direct control.
If your account is terminated, profile information and public posts may be retained, kept confidential under this policy and applicable law. Content you've removed may persist in cached or archived pages, or in copies other users saved. Messages between users and posts in public areas may be retained after termination.
Your information sits on secured servers behind firewalls, with measures against loss and unauthorized access, and may be stored or transmitted in the US or internationally. Payment transactions run through processors with their own security procedures. That said, no internet transmission is completely secure: keep your password confidential, sign out on shared devices, and know that anything you post in public areas is viewable by others. Transmission of personal information is at your own risk, and we can't be responsible for circumvention of privacy settings or security measures.
You can access, edit, or delete your name, password, email address, location, profile information, and uploaded content (the exact options may evolve with our services). Updated information may leave unrevised copies in our records. To view or update information, or to request account deletion, email sayhello@vancitystudios.com.
California residents: under Civil Code §§1798.83–84 you may request an annual notice of the personal-information categories we've shared with affiliates or third parties for marketing. Submit written requests to sayhello@vancitystudios.com.
We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain personal information from anyone under 18, except users 13 or older whose parent or guardian has agreed to our terms on their behalf. If we learn we've collected information from someone under 18 without verified parental consent, we make commercially reasonable efforts to delete it. Concerns: sayhello@vancitystudios.com.
Our services are hosted in the United States, whose data-protection laws differ from other countries', including EU member states. By using our services from outside the US, you consent to your personal information being collected, transferred, and stored in the US, where it may be accessible to US law enforcement.
We may update this policy as our services improve, and we'll communicate changes by website notice, email, or a notice in our services. Continuing to use our services after a change means you accept it.
